Overview
Verathonยฎ is looking for a Senior Product Planner to become the newest member of our Airway Product Marketing team.
This role will be based at our headquarters in Bothell, WA.
As a Senior Product Planner you will be responsible for championing the product roadmap and new product development in the Verathon Airway business unit with a focus on our monitoring platforms and software-driven portfolio supporting GlideScopeยฎ video laryngoscopes and BFlexโ„ข single-use bronchoscopes. You will lead product planning for embedded software features, electronic healthcare connectivity, and AI-powered clinical applications. You will directly interact with anesthesiologists, intensivists, pulmonologists and emergency responders in hospitals and EMS around the world.
You will be responsible for identifying unmet clinical needs through global market assessments, with emphasis on software, connectivity, and AI-driven solutions for bronchoscopy and airway management. You will have the opportunity to present to Verathon Senior Management and work with customers, engineers, finance, and sales to execute Verathon's strategic direction.
Responsibilities
  • Develop strong understanding of clinical unmet needs through voice-of-the-customer analyses and Key Opinion
  • Leader (KOL) relationships
  • Lead market research, monitor trend and competitive activity, and industry developments
  • Provide ongoing input into the product line strategic vision, including growth strategy and product roadmap
  • Actively collaborate on innovation teams using Design Thinking and BioDesign methodologies
  • Identify and define new product opportunities in core and adjacent markets
  • Ensure products address most important requirements to facilitate marketplace differentiation
  • Create robust business cases for products collaborating with commercial leaders around the world
  • Ensure seamless integration with cross-functional teams to set schedule, scope, and costs at each Product Development Process stage gate
  • In collaboration with Human Factors Engineering, lead formative usability testing throughout concept and development
  • Ensure all elements of the product, including the product structure, packaging, labeling, service, and warranty support user and stakeholder needs
  • Initiate product launch marketing plans including marketing objectives, strategies, tactics, and measures to meet and surpass business launch targets.
  • Recommend global pricing for assigned products, create revenue and new product forecasts and track key business metrics for initial post launch period
  • Track product performance against competitors and expectations, adjusting marketing strategy as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of product planning, product management, or relevant experience; experience in embedded software or AI/ML product planning strongly preferred
  • Strong experience in product development, product launch, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning
  • Highly effective at development and execution of product strategy and growth initiatives
  • Proven organizational, planning and project/product management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong experience in a regulated industry, preferably Medical Devices
  • Experience defining software market requirements, user workflows, and acceptance criteria for embedded or connected medical device software (SaMD/SiMD experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated experience planning and launching AI or machine learning features in a clinical or regulated environment, including working with data science teams on model development, validation, and post-market monitoring
  • Familiarity with electronic healthcare connectivity standards and digital health integration (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM, or hospital network architecture)
  • Knowledge of clinical applications and hospital economics across global geographies; familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) connectivity, interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR), and hospital economics across global geographies
  • Strong analytics and demonstrated ability to create business models and forecasts
  • Strong leadership potential
  • Experience working with embedded software and firmware engineering teams; familiarity with agile and hardware/software co-development processes
  • Collaborator and team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • 20-25% domestic and international travel is required

Salary range - $142,800 - $177,200 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
Full-time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon's annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
