Spokane Produce, Inc. is seeking a qualified Seasoned Produce Sales Representative to add to our team.
JOB SUMMARY:
Grow existing and develop new business. Meet sales goals and objectives, both individual and team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Contact customers via phone or site visits to build and maintain good relationships in order to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Calmly and effectively resolve customer complaint.
- Accurately enter customer orders into the system and have orders entered within set time frames according to delivery route schedules.
- Effective account management including: profitable sales; customer service; price and volume management. Manage quantities of product sold vs. warehouse supply. Work cooperatively as a sales team to not over or under sell and therefore ensuring all accounts are properly supplied.
- Assist customers with retailing and advertising.
- Operate in a team environment, working closely with sales team and other departments. Constant communication with warehouse and drivers.
- Know the product: seasonal and specials and market accordingly.
- Light collections with customer base when applicable.
- Promote a positive company image and operate under the highest ethical standards.
- Maintain continual awareness of the competitive marketplace.
- Must follow good manufacturing practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and experience within the Produce business: in depth knowledge of grow seasons, quality, pairings and marketing strategies
- 5+ years of produce experience. Knowledge of organic items and processed items.
- Retail and pricing experience required.
- Sales experience and customer service skills
- Ability to meet goals
- Solid computer skills - Word and Excel.
- Flexibility with schedule, able to travel when needed, work rotating weekends, holidays when scheduled
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self starter and motivated
- Proven success with retaining, identifying, developing and growing accounts
- Regional traveling
- Clean 3 year driving record. Must be able to meet insurability requirements
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works in all weather conditions. Exposed to agriculture fields during various states of crop growth. Occasionally in and out of dry cold rooms with temperature range of 33-35 degrees F. Wet cold rooms are 33-36 degrees F.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen, and continue to satisfy our drug testing policy, if offered employment. We are a Federal Contractor and drug free workplace, which includes a prohibition on marijuana use for all employees.
