Position Summary:
Primary purpose of this position is to drive the execution on the inventory strategy for selected commodity segments within a multi-distribution network. The manager is end-responsible for the planning, procurement, and vendor collaboration as well as the overall seamless flow of goods from vendor to distribution centers to support customers' demand.
Here's what you'll do:
  • Responsible for achieving Fill Rate and Inventory Turn objectives for assigned categories across the network.
  • Monitor team's inventory and reviews the daily, weekly, and monthly purchase orders to support demand.
  • Work with team to evaluate efficient order quantities at the item and vendor level and weighs integral costs against service level needs, to ensure the DC's can efficiently receive while still achieving optimal fill rate.
  • Monitor the suppliers' performance, assessing their ability to meet inventory and delivery requirements; collaborate with suppliers to develop and execute appropriate supply plans.
  • Work with Inventory Services and Merchandising groups to develop plans to address overstocks and left over sale excess inventory.
  • Provide direction to team on issues resulting in non movement of inventory, and work with them to process return to vendor on overstocks and discontinued items.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Demand Planning Manager on a regular basis to resolve specific demand anomalies.
  • Train and develop team on buying systems utilization and processes to deliver best in class supply chain Fill Rate (service level) and inventory turn performance.
  • Determine root cause of Supply constraints and On Time performance issues and work with team and Vendors to improve their Inbound Fill Rate and On Time performance.
  • Collaborates with Merchandising team on ongoing supplier constraints.
  • Participate in S&OP process and collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align on appropriate supply plans
  • Establish team performance goals to measure and evaluate the factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Communicate with Dir and VP of Inventory Management regarding business needs to secure resources needed to satisfy Customer demands and ensure delivery and/or implementation.
  • Work with team to identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Three years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, operations, and customers.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
