Description
About The Role:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a leading defense technology company, is seeking a Procurement Associate to be part of our Procurement team and based out of our Arlington, VA location.
 
The successful Procurement Associate candidate will be responsible for the procurement of equipment, material, services, and products in accordance with established processes, procedures and CPSR requirements. They will work closely with the procurement team and department personnel to ensure the successful execution of purchasing agreements. They will comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Operations Support Team, Sr. Procurement Manager.
 
Clearance & Location Requirements:
  • All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • This is an on-site position. Requiring at least 3 days in office, based out of our Arlington, VA location.

Key Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
  • Execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders, based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of commodities, equipment, services or other major items under U.S. Government contracts.
  • Lead negotiations and apply knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations, contract law and guidelines, practices and requirements to assess, plan, establish fair and reasonable pricing documentation and negotiate best terms and conditions and to minimize risk.
  • Resolve issues related to areas such as pricing, quality, schedule, claims, payment issues or disputes associated with terms and conditions of purchase orders.
  • Procure material and supplies at competitive prices, considering quality and suitability, time restraints/requirements and benefits to company, both short and long term. Be aware of and stay focused on production and price trends.
  • Regularly expedite POs and properly closeout orders.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance as required.
  • Assist in the processing of returned material. Follow up to ensure credit invoices are received and properly applied.
  • Primary contact between IDT program personnel and assigned suppliers.
  • Maintain current accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement documentation.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain records and files (both physical and digital) documenting transactions and compliance in accordance with CPSR requirements.
  • Regularly communicate with team members and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Who You Are (Required):
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or economy, or equivalent full-time professional experience in Procurement (Purchasing or Subcontracts).
  • Minimum Three years of experience in a U.S. Government contracting Purchasing environment.
  • Experience in purchasing under CPSR-compliant conditions.
  • Experience in purchasing in an ISO environment
  • Knowledgeable of all FAR regulations and federal laws, pertaining to procurement, subcontracting and contracts.
  • Requires the ability to understand detailed specifications (BOM) for equipment and able to communicate coherently with operational program personnel.

Pay Range*: $72,000 - $114,450
This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate’s experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels. Therefore, more than one pay range has been included, commensurate with experience.
