Description

We are looking for procurement analyst candidates with 4-8 years of experience supporting Federal Government contracting offices, either as former 1102 civilian/military, or as contractor support. This position supports Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. This position primarily conductsย accessing and reporting from NASA systems for management reports and oversight of procurement operations. As a second area, the preferred candidate will support the Policy Branch by providing policy and information management functions similar to, but not limited to, preparing and maintaining policy documentation, interpretation and dissemination of procurement regulations, and creating, updating, and maintaining procurement related forms and templates.ย  This position will monitor changes issued to the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the NASA FAR Supplement along with procurement policy decisions made by NASA HQ.ย This position is for full time on-site work.

Work Location:ย ย This position is an onsiteย roleย in Houston, TX.ย Seventh Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1,500 annually to your Transportation FSA.ย

Responsibilities:ย ย 
ย 

  • Serve as a procurement analyst at JSC in support of our Business Systems Support Specialist.ย Pull reports from various NASA procurement systems and provide recommendations for action. Follow-up with supported procurement offices for necessary action. .
  • The individual shall provide policy and information management functions similar to, but not limited to, preparing and maintaining policy documentation; interpretation and dissemination of procurement regulations; and creating, updating and maintaining procurement related forms and templates.
  • The individual shall monitor, update and maintain Agency organizational and policy related information on Agency internal and external websites and databases.ย 
  • The individual shall monitor changes issued to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS) along with procurement policy decisions made by NASA HQ (e.g. Procurement Information Circulars (PICs)) and shall provide these, along with a description of the impact upon current operations, for dissemination.ย  All work will be subject to final review and approval by the appropriate government authority before dissemination

Required Qualifications:
ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in business and 4 years of experience, or Associates and 6 years experience,ย or HS Diploma and 8 years of experience
  • Relevant experience in procurement, policy analysis, contracting, or related areas
  • Current or previous NASA acquisition experience is highly desired
  • Be able to gain and maintainย a Public Trust clearance


Skills:ย  ย

  • Expertise with verbal and written communications
  • Comfortable working with files on a SharePoint Site
  • Proficient and confidence working with Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint for document preparation and briefings
  • Proficiency and confidence in learning and working within IT systems and tools (some PC based; some NASA system based) and proactively reaching out to resolve any computer/systems/tools issues which are dependencies for completing work assignments.ย  Most commonly used systems/tools include FPDS, SAP, PPS, NCMS, SAM.gov, CPARS, IRIS, EPDW, and BOBJ.ย 
  • Actual experience working within a team usining a variety of communication environments: email, video communications, phone, and face-to-face. Proactively worksย with teammates and customers to complete and follow-up on assignments.ย 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter.ย
