Job Description

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person. As a Procurement Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our organization has the right materials, products, and services at the right time and cost. You'll support the procurement team by preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records.
Job responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare direct orders through internal financial systems.
- Obtain price quotes for micro purchases, as assigned.
- Create various procurement within our Financial Management System database.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain file folders for the unit.
- Prepare Bid Books for the Contract unit.
- Prepare submissions for all Business Data forms to the Mayor's Office of Contract Services on behalf of the Purchasing and Contracts unit.
- Process all purchase orders for distribution to vendors, programs, and other OCME stakeholders.
- Administration Procurement work and projects as needed.
-Utilize the PASSPort system, and Buywise in addition to other government portals.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Selected candidates will be required to provide a DNA sample by swabbing.
