Job description

As a Continuous Improvement Consultant, you will help shape how work gets done across the organization by identifying opportunities to improve processes, create operational efficiencies, and develop sustainable solutions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, Lean methodologies, and partnering with teams to drive meaningful change. You will work across departments to document, optimize, and standardize processes that support Maverik's continued growth.

By improving workflows, maintaining SOP governance, and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, this position has a direct impact on productivity, consistency, training effectiveness, and the overall team member experience. The work performed in this role helps create scalable processes that support both our stores and Base Camp teams.
 
Work Location & Schedule
This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4-day hybrid in-office schedule and supports a 24/7 retail operation. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday support may be needed to support business needs. Occasional travel may be required to support store visits, vendor partnerships, training initiatives, and process improvement projects.
 
Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex, enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives that align with organizational strategy and business goals.
  • Conduct in-depth process assessments and facilitate end-to-end redesign efforts that drive measurable efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, ensuring consistent adoption and sustainability.
  • Develop and deliver advanced Lean and Six Sigma training and coaching to build organizational capability.
  • Oversee labor standards and performance metrics to identify trends and drive productivity improvements across all stores.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants and business partners on continuous improvement tools, techniques, and project management.
  • Continuously advance expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and emerging improvement methodologies to support ongoing innovation.
Role Requirements:
  • This role is cell phone stipend eligible and supports an 24/7 operation. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required to respond to urgent issues or service calls.
  • Occasional daily and overnight travel may be required for team meetings, training, or special projects.
You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, preferred. 
  • Lean Certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a business process improvement role
  • Retail setting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000/Year DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
