Job description

TheContinuous ImprovementEngineer IIindependently owns manufacturing processes for assigned assemblies or production areas. This role balances quality, schedule, and cost while supporting scalable production of UAV systems. Tasks and responsibilities expected for this role include those captured by lower role specific levels.

This role involves working closely with engineers,production technicians, and operations teams to supportmultiple programs and value streams.

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Leadย continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operationsย ย 
  • Collect and analyze production data toย identifyย and implementย process improvementsย 
  • Independently support production issue resolutionย 
  • Develop capacityย planningย andย production planningย strategiesย 
  • Leadย assemblyย line, workstation, and facility layout improvementย projectsย 
  • Implement and sustainย Lean Manufacturing toolsย and methodsย such as 5S, standardized work, and kanban systemsย 
  • Facilitateย Kaizen events andย other root cause analysis activitiesย ย ย 
  • Lead and drive improvements in material flowย design, inventory management, and MES processesย ย 
  • Provide Lean training and mentorship for team membersย on topics such as Toyota Kata, TWI, andย overall business process improvementย 
  • Lead supplierย assessments and auditsย ย 
  • Follow AS9100, safety, and configuration control requirementsย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree inย industrial,ย Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience)ย 
  • 2-5ย yearsย ofย industrial,ย manufacturing,ย orย continuous improvementย experienceย 
  • Working knowledge ofย Lean Manufacturingย principles and production systemsย ย 
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, preferredย 
  • Strongย understanding of manufacturing processes andย methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipmentย 
  • Experience leading process improvement projects in a manufacturing environmentย ย 
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel,ย Power BI, Visio, or similar software preferredย ย 
  • Working knowledge of structured problem-solving tools, including A3 thinking, root cause analysis, 5 Why's, Fishbone diagrams, fault tree analysis, and PDCAย 
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and process capabilityย methods, preferredย ย 
  • Strongย analytical,ย communication,ย facilitation,ย andย problem-solvingย skillsย ย
