Job description

Luvata Waterbury a leader in the Superconductor Industry is seeking a full time Manufacturing Process Engineer.

Luvata has been producing niobium-titanium (NbTi)-based superconducting wires and cables for nearly fifty years. We are the world's leading producer of special copper and low-temperature superconducting (LTS) wire and cable.

Superconducting wires and cables are used in:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanners
Particle accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
Synchrotrons to generate proton beams for cancer therapy
Fusion energy development magnets
NMR spectrometers
Scientific projects

We are currently looking for a manufacturing engineer with strong project management expertise

The purpose for this position is to engineer, measure, and monitor process and equipment.

Troubleshoot process and machine issues, defining and eliminating root causes.

Create and revise bills of materials, bills of operations for process/product, and manufacturing documentation.

Design mechanical components using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Conduct product/process trials.

Establish procedures to minimize operational variability.

Continuous improvement in technical practices.

Participate in growth and expansion projects within the plant.

Hands-on approach in a manufacturing environment

Requirements

BS Degree in engineering discipline.

3+ years experience

Project management experience and experience working with lean manufacturing
