Banner ERP Functional Analyst (Student & Financial Aid)

Duration: Long-Term Contract (1โ€“3 Years)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Banner ERP Functional Analyst to support a leading organization in the Higher Education industry. This is a long-term consulting opportunity supporting enterprise initiatives involving the Ellucian Banner ERP platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Banner Student and Financial Aid modules, along with excellent analytical, SQL, and business analysis skills. This role offers flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel or hybrid onsite support as project needs require.

Job Role

As a Banner ERP Functional Analyst, you will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping optimize Banner ERP processes, analyze data, support system enhancements, and ensure successful implementation of business requirements.

Scope of the Role

  • Support the Ellucian Banner Student and Financial Aid modules.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Perform Oracle SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Banner upgrades, patches, enhancements, and production releases.
  • Conduct system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Analyze production issues and recommend functional solutions.
  • Validate data integrity and perform reconciliation activities.
  • Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, functional users, and project stakeholders.
  • Support reporting and operational initiatives across the Banner environment.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Ellucian Banner ERP.
  • Strong functional expertise with Banner Student and/or Banner Financial Aid.
  • Solid understanding of Banner data structures.
  • Strong Oracle SQL skills for reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and creating functional documentation.
  • Experience supporting production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with system testing, regression testing, and UAT.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Banner Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • Experience working within Higher Education institutions.
  • Familiarity with Banner Self-Service and Banner Admin Pages.
  • Experience with Banner upgrades and ERP implementations.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Argos, Cognos, or similar.
  • Experience working in Agile or Waterfall project environments.
