What is a privacy product manager?

Privacy Product Managers are professionals who oversee the development and maintenance of products and services to ensure they comply with privacy laws and best practices. Job description

The Team + The Role

Pendo is the AI-powered analytics and adoption platform for builders. It connects a portfolio of apps and agents, bought and built, to user success and business outcomes. The Product team builds the tools that help customers understand how software gets built, adopted, and improved.

As a Sr. Product Manager, you will own strategy, roadmap, discovery, delivery, and lifecycle outcomes for a defined product area. You will work across engineering, design, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams to build for enterprise customers and their complex workflows, security needs, compliance considerations, and data privacy expectations.

This is a role based in-office in Raleigh or New York, or Remote in East Coast.

What this looks like day-to-day
  • Product vision and strategy: Define the roadmap for your product area and defend prioritization decisions with data, customer insight, and clear reasoning. You will balance the long-term direction of the product area with near-term delivery and contribute to how your work integrates with the broader Pendo platform.
  • Launch and lifecycle ownership: Drive the full product lifecycle from early concept through general availability and post-launch iteration. You will make clear calls on scope, sequence, and tradeoffs while owning the outcome of what ships.
  • Discovery and market intelligence: Run continuous discovery with enterprise customers and prospects to understand complex workflows, compliance needs, and buying expectations. You will separate table-stakes requirements from differentiation opportunities and synthesize findings into actionable product decisions.
  • Cross-functional execution: Work closely with engineering to sequence and scope work, and partner with design on interaction models and user experience. You will hold the quality bar for acceptance criteria, dependency management, sprint discipline, and delivery readiness.
  • Go-to-market partnership: Serve as the subject-matter expert for Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Partnerships on your product area. You will translate product capability into a clear commercial narrative and bring customer and market signals back into the roadmap.
  • AI-accelerated product work: Apply AI across the product cycle, including discovery synthesis, early wireframe concepts, specification drafting, competitive analysis, and design exploration. You will use AI to move faster from insight to decision and share effective practices with the broader team.
  • Standards and craft: Document decisions, write specs that engineering can act on without a verbal walkthrough, and bring a clear point of view to design reviews. You will ensure the quality of the product area reflects the quality of the thinking behind it.
Who You Are

Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren\'t buzzwords; they\'re the things we\'ll actually look for in how you talk about your work.

You\'re a builder, not a maintainer.

You\'re most energized when there isn\'t a clear path yet, and you get to define it. You don\'t wait for direction; you identify gaps, shape solutions, and drive them forward. At Pendo, great Senior Product Managers don\'t just follow instructions; they operate as strategic advisors, influencing decisions, guiding stakeholders, and elevating how we work.

You\'re AI-curious - genuinely.

You\'re not using AI tools occasionally. You\'re rewiring how you work around them. You\'re faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it, and you bring that energy to everything โ€” how you approach your work, how you prep, how you communicate, how you think. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut.

Must-haves
  • 5+ years of product management experience with a track record of owning product areas end-to-end in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building for enterprise customers, including navigating complex procurement, security, compliance, or data privacy requirements.
  • Experience taking a product or major feature through the full lifecycle, including scoping, sequencing, launching, and iterating.
  • Ability to operate independently on well-scoped problems, determine the approach, and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to have credible conversations with engineers and give informed feedback on implementation tradeoffs.
  • Track record of driving cross-functional alignment by resolving conflicts, clarifying decisions, and moving work forward.
  • Active AI fluency with specific examples of how AI has meaningfully changed your day-to-day product workflow.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a rapidly evolving product and company context where priorities shift, tools change, and ambiguity is common.
  • Clear, structured communication skills across written specs and verbal updates, with the ability to leave stakeholders aligned on next steps.
Nice-to-haves
  • Background in B2B enterprise platform products with data privacy or compliance requirements.
  • Experience using AI prototyping or code generation tools such as Cursor, v0, Replit, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to validate product ideas before engineering investment.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools for early-stage concept exploration.
  • Familiarity with Pendo as a user or customer.
