Job description

Support Center - IrvingThe Pricing Analyst will drive the analysis and execution of the Pricing and Promotions strategy and tactics. Strong analytical and math skills are required, along with experience manipulating large data sets using internal data warehouse system. Proven collaboration skills are required to create strong cross functional relationships with Category Management, Marketing, Store Operations, and Inventory. Leading in efforts to drive strategic pricing across the company.

Major Activities

Be the pricing expert for assigned categories of product.

Regular Price Strategy and Analysis:

  • Create in depth pricing architecture reviews for cost changes, competitive and merchant strategy shifts.
  • Track and measure effectiveness of retail changes.
  • Present to Manager and Merchant partners recommendations to influence decision making.
  • Understand Merchant product attributes and category positioning in the marketplace.
  • Participate in Model Store projects/reviews to understand Merchant strategies.

Promotion Pricing Analysis:

  • Partner with Manager to construct weekly promotional plans for each Merchant department by utilizing various data sources.
  • Monitor and analyze results weekly to develop skills in recommending changes for in-season and future promotions.
  • Maintain high-level seasonal promotion charts for Merchant teams.

Clearance Price Strategy and Analysis:

  • Maintain markdown ladders for Pricing Manager & Sr. Pricing Analyst.
  • Assist with quarterly markdown ladder reviews for auditing purposes.

Competition:

  • Maintain awareness of marketplace competition pricing and promotion activity leveraging web scraping tools, in-store and on-line comp shops.
  • Perform web scraping validation of competitive matches.
  • Perform ad hoc comp shop projects for Manager and Merchant team.

Reporting:

  • Support Pricing Director with ownership of an assigned pricing report for the Pricing Advisory team.

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree related to business, mathematics, statistics, finance; or equivalent experience

Minimum Type of experience the job requires

  • Minimum 2years in a corporate business setting
  • Analyst role in analytical function

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Power Point, Word, Outlook and intermediate to advanced MS Excel required (vlookups, pivot tables, formula writing, etc.)

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's Degree related to business, mathematics, statistics, or finance.

Preferred Type of Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in a corporate retail setting.
  • Experience as a pricing professional, planner, or merchant.

Other

  • Strong communication and presentation skills required. Able to develop strong relationships with key partners.
  • Able to develop skills in selling point of view and persuading other functions to support your program.
  • Self-motivated
  • Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Able to develop in performing complex analyses by manipulating large data sets
