Supervisor of Production Press - Weekend Night (Near Oskosh Area)

Overview:

  • As a Production Supervisor, you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is successful. This position will be based in Ripon WI. This position will be on Weekend 2nd Shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:00pm to 5:00am. There may be additional workdays as needed
  • We are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to lead and support our high-performance production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This key leadership position upholds a safety-first culture, emphasizes continuous improvement, and exemplifies servant leadership to foster an engaged, motivated workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety :

  • Champion a safety culture, enforce all safety policies, conduct safety audits, and lead root-cause investigations for incidents or near-misses.
  • Identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions promptly.
  • Ensure all team members receive up-to-date safety training and use PPE as required.

Leadership:

  • Model servant leadership by prioritizing team development, coaching, and empowerment.
  • Support operators and technicians in overcoming challenges, providing necessary resources, and recognizing contributions.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive environment where every team members input is valued.

Development:

  • Train, mentor, and assess team members abilities (including cross-training initiatives).
  • Oversee attendance, conduct, and enforce company policies consistently.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues
  • Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues

Production Oversight in a Fast-Paced, High-Volume Environment:

  • Supervise all activities of the stamping press department, ensuring achievement of aggressive production targets, consistent quality standards, and on-time delivery.
  • Proactively monitor workflow and assign tasks to optimize manpower and maximize machine utilization within high-demand schedules.
  • Quickly adapt to changing priorities, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects (5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Analyze downtime, scrap, and process bottlenecks; implement effective countermeasures in collaboration with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Encourage team-driven suggestions for process enhancements, especially those supporting throughput and efficiency.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records; report KPIs to management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality, tooling, and maintenance issues promptly, especially under tight timeframes.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience/Education:

  • Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
  • A minimum of one to three years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous manufacturing supervision experience, preferably in high volume stamping press operations.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous professional, internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity and able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous manufacturing supervision experience, preferably in high volume stamping press operations.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
