Job description

Summary of position Fin Press Operators will operate mechanical fin press machines to form aluminum and copper fin used in heat transfer coils. The machine operator will be responsible for the regular maintenance of the machine and the production of fins according to the coil production schedule. Essential function To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions. Read and understand bills of materials. Figure material and load requirements. Read, understand and follow material and load requirements on the fin schedule. Log off each load ran on the fin schedule. Set up the machine. Run fin requirements. Disassemble and clean dies and machine. Service and lubricate the machine. Check work and ensure quality. Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed. Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures. Work overtime as necessary. Attend work as required. Arrive for work on time. Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on the computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll. Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated, and complete job assignments on time. Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly. Clean work area as required. Desired qualifications Education & Experience: A high school level of education is desired for this position in order to continue upward advancement in the company. The employee must be able to understand directions from superiors.
Skills: Effective communications skills, good listening skills ability to read and comprehend written instructions, basic mathematical skills, ability to control operations of equipment or system, monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals or organization to make improvements or take corrective action, good people skills in order to work in teams with others in the organization. Certificates, Licenses, or training: forklift license, on-site training level/grade1 “ Beginning level fin press operator meets minimal quality standards, needs more time to complete work than estimated for the job2 “ Proficient level fin press operator meets quality standards, able to complete work within estimated hours for the job3 – Proficient level fin press operator meets quality standards, able to complete work in less time than estimated for the job
