Stoughton, WI - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Stoughton, WI. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a results-driven Production Manager who will lead sheet metal manufacturing operations at a high-volume fabrication facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading a diverse team of manufacturing professionals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, proven manufacturing leadership experience, and a passion for developing teams while driving operational excellence.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
  • Lead daily operations within sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing departments to ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery goals are achieved.
  • Manage and develop supervisors, fabricators, and direct labor personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Drive operational efficiency through Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Oversee production processes involving cutting, punching, laser operations, press brake forming, welding, and assembly.
  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to maximize throughput while maintaining quality standards.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve processes.
  • Utilize production metrics and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience in a production or operations environment.
  • Previous leadership experience within sheet metal fabrication operations.
  • Experience managing a significant portion of a manufacturing facility or production operation.
  • Demonstrated success leading, motivating, cross-training, and developing diverse manufacturing teams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comprehensive understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including:
  • Laser cutting
  • Punching
  • Press brake forming
  • Welding
  • Assembly operations
  • Experience implementing and sustaining Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Preferred:
  • Experience working with Trumpf automation equipment, including: Trumpf Lasers, Bend Cells, TruPunch Systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in a high-volume fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
