Preschool Teacher

Location: 2323 Roscomare Road, Los Angeles, 90077

Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (TBC: 8:30 AM-12:00 PM)

About Us: Canyon Crest Preschool opened its doors in Bel Air in January 2025. Our goal is to build a teaching and learning community that cherishes childhood and understands how children learn through purposeful play. Our teaching team will provide a creative, joyful, and developmentally appropriate preschool environment where children can explore and learn through scaffolded hands-on activities. We are committed to fostering a love for learning in all developmental domains, ensuring each child thrives socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

Job Summary: We seek a friendly and professional Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will create and implement developmentally appropriate activities, maintain positive relationships with parents and colleagues, and ensure the classroom and school are a warm and engaging place. A team player with a cheerful and nurturing disposition, you will always be prepared to provide the best educational experience for our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development:

    • Engage children in play-based learning activities that promote growth in all developmental domains (social, emotional, physical, cognitive).

    • Support a stimulating, engaging, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

    • Support Lead Teacher in assessing and documenting children's progress and development, adapting activities to meet individual needs.

  • Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing classroom.

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, adhering to all safety and health regulations.

    • Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes self-regulation, friendships, and belonging.

  • Parent and Colleague Relations:

    • Build strong, positive relationships with parents.

    • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff, contributing to a supportive and cohesive team environment.

    • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

  • Professionalism and Teamwork:

    • Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and preparedness for each workday.

    • Exhibit a cheerful and positive attitude, contributing to a happy and productive work environment.

    • Embrace and promote the school’s philosophy of cherishing childhood and valuing play as a vital part of learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field (12 ECE units minimum); strong preference for at least 3 units of Infant & Toddler coursework.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a preschool setting.

  • Understanding of basic child development principles and play-based learning.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Must pass a background check.
