Job Title: Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader Position Overview

The Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader is a high-level field management role responsible for the successful execution of complex landscape, irrigation, and hardscape installation projects. You are the "General on the Ground," translating architectural blueprints into living landscapes while managing a crew of specialists. This position requires a mastery of site logistics, subcontractor coordination, and administrative precision. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure every project is completed safely, on schedule, and to the 50-year excellence standard of Bland Landscaping Company.

Key Responsibilities 1. Project Management & Technical Leadership
  • Blueprint & Specification Execution: Interpret complex job plans, grading scales, and horticultural specifications to ensure precise installation of plantings, lawns, and hardscapes.

  • Full-Scale Installation: Lead the installation of high-value landscapes, including site preparation, soil conditioning, irrigation hydraulics, and architectural drainage.

  • Irrigation Expertise: Program and adjust advanced irrigation controllers; troubleshoot and install complex system components to ensure site-wide water efficiency.

  • Subcontractor Management: Act as the primary onsite point of contact for external vendors and subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with project timelines and quality standards.

2. Crew Management & Safety Leadership
  • Team Development: Supervise, train, and mentor a crew of 2-5 technicians, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, efficiency, and professional growth.

  • Safety Stewardship: Enforce 100% compliance with Company Safety Policies and PPE requirements; lead daily/weekly safety briefings and equipment inspections.

  • Operational Flow: Manage daily start-up and shut-down procedures; coordinate the staging of heavy equipment (skid steers, excavators) and bulk material logistics.

  • Fleet Accountability: Ensure the safe operation and cleanliness of company-owned trucks and trailers, maintaining a "standardized" and professional appearance at all times.

3. Administration & Strategic Communication
  • Project Tracking: Utilize BOSS Mobile and other digital tools for real-time timesheet submission, job costing, and material tracking.

  • Client Relations: Maintain professional on-site communication with clients, developers, and general contractors to manage expectations and resolve issues in real-time.

  • Production Planning: Communicate daily with the Production Manager regarding project milestones, labor hours management, and resource forecasting.

Pay & Benefits Package
  • Competitive Compensation: $800 - $1,000 weekly salary based on experience

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Health Insurance with Vision and Dental options.

  • Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) annually plus 11 observed Paid Holidays.

  • Retirement: 401(k) retirement savings plan.

  • Career Growth: Significant opportunities for advancement into Branch Management or Regional Operations as we expand across NC, SC, and FL.

Core Expectations
  • Leadership Excellence: A positive attitude, a solid work ethic, and the ability to motivate a diverse team.

  • Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are non-negotiable for this leadership role.

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate heavy equipment and a deep understanding of Southeastern plant material and irrigation systems.
