Description

Our Business Systems Analyst, focusing on Power BI Reports and Dashboards, will support the continued growth and enhancement of the Business Intelligence platform across the LDI family of companies. This role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to develop reports, dashboards, and data solutions that provide meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.

The Business Systems Analyst combines technical and analytic skills with a strong customer service mindset. This role will assist in translating business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions, helping users better understand performance, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.

This role reports to the Manager, Business Systems and is based at our corporate headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards, including complex analytical solutions.
  • Support the ongoing improvement and standardization of reporting solutions across the enterprise.  
  • Assist with the migration and modernization of existing reports and dashboards. 
  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.  
  • Partner with business users to understand key metrics that support informed decisions. 
  • Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models using established data modeling and DAX best practices.
  • Translate business requirements into functional data models and analytical structures. 
  • Perform data validation and testing to ensure report accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to source, transform, and integrate data from multiple systems. 
  • Support enhancements to the data warehouse and reporting environments. 
  • Follow established data governance, security, data quality standards, and report lifecycle management.  
  • Serve as change agent for the adoption of BI tools and self-service analytics.  
  • Provide end-user support, training, and guidance to Power BI reports and dashboards. 
  • Develop and maintain reporting and process documentation, and user guides. 
  • Stay current on Microsoft Power BI and Power Platform capabilities and recommend improvements where appropriate.  
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as a reporting and analytics resource.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, a or related field.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on Power BI experience, such as dashboard development, data modeling, basic DAX and performance optimization.  
  • Experience with SQL database schemas, data modeling, database design, and working within the Microsoft data ecosystem. 
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.
  • Experience in designing and supporting data warehouse structures.  
  • Understanding of data quality concepts and reporting best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.  
  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.  

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Informatica or similar ETL/data integration tools.  
  • Process improvement methodologies and project management tools. 
  • Experience supporting multiple business functions in a shared services environment. 
  • Ability to leverage AI capabilities within Power BI for analytics and insight generation. 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and other enterprise business applications. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $88,226 – $110,282 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location.  Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
