Job Responsibilties

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for a Postal Specialist at The Citadel Post Office (CPU). The responsibilties of this role include the following:

  • Extensive knowledge of postal policies, procedures, rules and regulations for processing and distributing mail
  • Superior customer service and sales skills to operate the postal retail window
  • Ability to accurately maintain cash drawer and stamp stock
  • Ability to navigate and process packages through Package Tracking Systems and Software
  • Must be able to work in close quarters and under very busy times

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and at least one(1) year of postal operations experience or equivalent combination of education, training or experienceย 
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with students, faculty, staff and community
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
