Job Title: Student Worker - Modern Languages and Cultures Student Office Associate
Job Classification: Administrative and Office Services, Student
Department: Modern Languages and Cultures

Work Schedule: Flexible between 8 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Desired Length of Employment: ongoing
Pay Rate: $8.50 per hour.

Job Description:
Student Office Associate
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (MLC) seeks to hire a student worker to work in the main department office or another office area within the department. The responsibilities include:
1. Assist Modern Languages and Cultures (MLC) Office faculty and staff as required.
2. Perform regular checks of supplies in department workrooms.
3. Maintains a record of supply inventory and provides the Office Manager with supply orders as needed.
4. Maintaining copier and printer supplies through the Copy Center and/or ordering from Staples.
5. Run errands (e.g., copy center, other departments).
6. Sorts mail after delivery from the post office and takes it to other mailboxes within the department.
7. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
8. Answers phone calls and assists department visitors.
9. Performs light housekeeping around the main department office.
10. Confidentiality, honesty, and being well-organized and reliable are required. The student office associate must be able to maintain confidentiality, which could conflict with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). The Student Office Associate will agree to abide by FERPA when completing paperwork with Student Employment.
11. Assists with various projects as required.
12. Performs other duties as required.
13. Be responsible for completing and submitting your timesheet on time.
The Student Office Associate will work 10-20 hours per week, with flexible hours during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Pay starts at $8.50 per hour.
