Job description

Pool Cleaning Technician

Midwest Pool Management is looking to hire trustworthy and reliable Pool Cleaning Technicians to service and maintain our client's pool at Balfour Beatty Community Center on Whiteman Air Force Base! As a pool technician your duties will include driving to pool locations, testing chemicals, adding chemicals as needed, as well as backwashing and troubleshooting any other issues.

To ensure success as a Pool Cleaning Technician, you should have excellent knowledge of swimming pool equipment and maintenance, be able to work with hazardous chemicals, and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.

This position is a seasonal position. Below is a list of requirements to join our award-winning team at MPM-KC:


  1. Responsibilities:
    1. Driving your own vehicle to the different pool locations.
    2. Maintaining equipment and chemical stock at pool.
    3. Testing swimming pool water.
    4. Adding acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to correct any chemical balance.
    5. Cleaning swimming pool using authorized equipment.
    6. Backwashing all pool filters.
    7. Reporting faulty pool equipment to management.
    8. Completing paperwork and reporting service requirements to management.
    9. Will be expected to help with other duties as assigned.
  2. Requirements:
    1. 16 years or older
    2. Ability to lift heavy equipment of 50 lbs. or more.
    3. Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
    4. Maintain a professional appearance.
    5. RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
    6. Working and reliable cell phone with a camera and photo receiving/sending capabilities.
    7. Ability to follow GPS maps.
    8. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
    9. Available during the summer, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
      1. Typical work hours are 6 am - 9 am but are subject to change. Hours are available 7 days a week. Additional hours possibly available out of our Kansas City office.
    10. Be Professional. You represent Midwest Pool Management as well as the facility you are working at. We expect you to always present yourself in a professional manner, through both your appearance and attitude. A good work ethic is an important quality, one which all employers expect. All staff members must wear the required Company uniform while on duty. The required uniform includes, but is not limited to staff shirt, sunglasses, hat or visor, and water bottle.
    11. Treat all patrons kindly with respect.
    12. Keep the pool(s) AND surrounding facilities clean.
    13. Know your schedule and arrive at work on time.
      1. Employees are expected to be available a minimum of 18 hours a week and must work at least four weekend days a month (2 Saturdays and Sundays, 4 Saturdays, 4 Sundays, or any combination their in.)
    14. Mornings, daytime, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours are required. Have a positive and productive attitude, and most of all HAVE FUN!!!
    15. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
