Description The City of Upper Arlington proudly operates three outdoor pools and one indoor pool and is committed to providing safe and healthy experiences to all pool patrons. Under the direction of the pool manager, assistant pool managers assure that the pool facility and recreational swimming programs are operated in the safest, most effective and effcient manner possible for all patrons. Lifeguard Training is available.

Assists Aquatics Manager and pool manager in establishing policies, procedures and safety rules for pool sta. and patrons. ??.

Enforces and follows policies and procedures that ensure the safe, e?ective and e?cient operation of the pool facility. ??. Prepares, maintains and submits records including, but not limited to, daily operations, water testing, pool equipment inspections, in-service training, accidents, rescues, and biohazard incidents.

??. Follows all established business and accounting procedures regarding the handling or transfer of monies, requisitions, and purchases of supplies and equipment. ??.

Responsible for verifying and securing change fund and all daily receipts. ??. Assists Aquatics Manager with preseason facility startup and end of season facility closing operations.

??. Assists pool manager overseeing and maintaining inventory of pool chemicals, facility equipment and cleaning, o?ce and maintenance supplies. ??.

Performs additional job-related duties as assigned by pool manager, Aquatics Manager, Recreation Superintendent or Parks & Recreation Director. Typical Qualifications College graduate preferred At least three (3) years previous experience as a lifeguard preferred. Experience and/or training in aquatics and/or recreational activities desirable.

Current American Red Cross or equivalent certification in Lifeguarding, Waterpark Lifeguarding, or Waterfront Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid. Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor or equivalent certification preferred. References from present and past employers are required.

Supplemental Information SALARY, HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS The City of Upper Arlington will determine the hourly rate of pool managers annually. Flexible scheduling. Assistant pool manager's workweek consists of up to 40 hours.

Hours worked in excess of 40 hours will be paid at the normal rate of pay with no provisions for overtime pay. All assistant pool managers must complete an annual drug screening and background check.
