The job of a political analyst is to research political trends, elections, and political movements and provide analysis or assessments, often to policymakers and other officials. Analysts work for many types of organizations, and their duties vary. National security services may employ a political analyst to research politics in other countries. Political campaigns and electoral use analysts to provide analysis of campaigns, laws, or other governmental operations. Non-governmental organizations, such as think tanks and universities, may also employ a political analyst.
