Description

We are seeking a Technical Policy Specialist to drive the transformation of our policy management function from traditional policy writing to a more technical, deployment-focused role. This position requires strong expertise in understanding, authoring, and deploying technical policies and procedures in machine-readable formats, leveraging tools like GitHub. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between compliance requirements and technical implementation, ensuring policies are accurately formatted, automated, and integrated into security platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and understand complex technical policies and procedures related to cybersecurity, compliance, and IT operations.
  • Author and maintain policies in Markdown (MD) format with a focus on machine readability and automation readiness.
  • Convert Markdown policy documents into HTML format for web-based publishing and consumption.
  • Manage policy versioning, collaboration, and deployment workflows using GitHub repositories.
  • Collaborate with security engineering teams to push policies and configurations through appropriate deployment platforms.
  • Ensure all policies are structured in formats compatible with automation tools and security orchestration.
  • Work closely with compliance, audit, and technical teams to align policy content with regulatory frameworks and operational requirements.
  • Continuously improve policy documentation processes to enhance clarity, accuracy, and technical applicability.
  • Support training and communication efforts related to new or updated technical policies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in technical policy writing, preferably within cybersecurity or IT compliance domains.
  • Strong proficiency with Markdown (MD) formatting and converting MD documents to HTML.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control, collaboration, and deployment workflows.
  • Understanding of machine-readable policy formats and automation principles.
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and IT security controls.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail in technical documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and compliance teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to support policy deployment.
  • Knowledge of security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud security policies and controls.
  • Prior experience in Agile or DevOps environments.
