Job description

Role: Polarion Administator
Work Location: Burr Ridge, IL
Duration: 6 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Software Engineers perform requirements analysis. They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.
Required Skills and Experience:
You have mastered several Software Engineering areas, applications or database environments. You act as a Software Engineering stream leader with technical delivery ownership within a (limited) number of technology areas. You contribute to bids or client proposals based on your technological expertise. You also act as a team leader with delivery ownership, and guide individuals and groups towards desired outcomes. You actively participate in at least one community and contribute to community discussions.
• Qualification: Minimum 5 years experience, Bachelor's Degree.
• Certification: Should have SE Level 1 and seeking level 2.
• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering, Testing, Data Management, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
Basic Function:
As the Polarion Administrator, you will configure and maintain Polarion (front and back end) as the central tool utilized within the software and electronics organization. The ALM tool encompasses requirements management, change management and quality management in addition to interaction with 3rd party software tools.
Responsibilities:
Tool Front End:
• Implement work items, attributes, traceability and workflows in Polarion
• Implement and update of project template configurations in Polarion
• Developing dashboards and Live Reports that support engineering and management needs
• Support data migration from current system to new implementation
• Evaluate and implement new Polarion plugins and add-ons to improve the functionality
• Support the definition and implementation of the integration of Polarion with 3rd party tools (SVN, GIT, Jira, Matlab, Enterprise architect)
Tool Back End:
• Should be able to quickly identify the root cause and resolve critical issues by looking across multiple layers (storage, OS, network, virtualization, and application / DB stack)
• Installation, configuration, development, debugging, support and upgrade Polarion addressing backup, performance, and archiving of data with internal IT and Siemens resources
• Implement and maintain the interface with user authentication server (ADFS)
• Monitor network/hardware configuration performance
• Handling ticket reporting through Siemens GTAC
• Restore Polarion sever from unexpected crashes as needed
• Maintain tool data repository (SVN)
Qualifications:
• Experience setting up and configuring brand new configurations of Polarion. Including configuration of work items, attributes, links and workflows
• Experience in general programming/scripting (Python, Shell, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, velocity)
• Experience supporting and maintaining Linux Red Hat operating systems
• Experience in the implementation and integration of cloud/web/database components like Apache, ADFS, Postgres, JMX, ExpressRoute
• Experience maintaining and configuring SVN
• Experience with network monitoring SW like Zabbix
