Job description

General Responsibilities:

  • Engage with GWRC stakeholders to analyze business needs, pain points, and process inefficiencies, and translate them into clear technical and functional requirements.
  • Conduct requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and document analysis to gather detailed inputs for solution design.
  • Develop comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), and User Stories aligned with Agile and PMBOK practices.
  • Map existing (“as-is”) processes and design optimized (“to-be”) workflows to support automation, data integration, or system modernization.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Developers to ensure business requirements are accurately implemented and validated.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies to support process reengineering and technology upgrades.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for process automation and system efficiency.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scripts, validating outputs, and documenting feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance standards, especially when handling sensitive or regulated information.
  • Contribute to change management and training efforts, ensuring that business users understand new processes and systems.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation, traceability matrices, and configuration change logs throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5–8 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in IT modernization, automation, or enterprise transformation projects.
    • Demonstrated expertise in process mapping, requirements analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Experience working in federal or public-sector environments preferred.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Business Process Modeling (BPMN 2.0), workflow analysis, and Lean methodologies.
  • Proficiency in documentation and visualization tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with RPA, low-code automation (Power Platform, UiPath), and data analytics solutions (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements related to cloud platforms, cybersecurity controls, and data management.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, APIs, and integration concepts is an asset.
