Success in these fields depends on expertise, portfolio, and performance rather than formal education alone.

How does a Platform Engineer typically collaborate with development and operations teams?

Platform Engineers play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams by building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure, tools, and automation that enable smooth software delivery. They often work closely with developers to understand application requirements, help automate deployment processes, and ensure reliable system performance. Regular communication and collaboration are essential, as Platform Engineers may support troubleshooting, infrastructure optimization, and security compliance efforts across teams. This collaborative environment fosters a culture of shared responsibility for the reliability and scalability of the entire technology stack.

Certifications, proficiency with relevant tools, and a disciplined schedule can also help increase earning potential.

What are platform jobs?
