The Role
TripleLift is seeking a Platform Partnerships Director to join the Business Development team. This is an individual contributor, director-level role based in our New York headquarters and reporting to the SVP of Business Development. You will be responsible for cultivating and managing strategic platform partnerships in the global ad-tech ecosystem with measurement, verification, identity, data, audience marketplace, and other foundational revenue-enabling partners. This is a highly cross-functional role that demands a strong understanding of the ecosystem and is critical to ensuring TripleLift's ongoing competitiveness.
You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, recommending and negotiating prospective partnerships in close collaboration with our product and commercial GTM teams to fill key capability gaps in our stack and/or meet pressing needs of advertisers and publishers. You will manage negotiation of commercial and contractual terms in collaboration with legal, as well as serve as the primary commercial lead for both pre-existing partners and new partners that you bring on board. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter with a deep understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, insatiable curiosity, sharp analytical skills, keen commercial instincts, and well-developed product sensibility. This is an ideal role for a strategic thinker who thrives on anticipating where the world is moving three steps ahead of the game, and imagining and structuring multidimensional partnerships that will enable us to meet the moment.
Responsibilities
  • Build and own the strategy for existing and new platform partnerships, acting as the company subject matter expert on identity (cross-device graph partners, alternative ID vendors, etc.), data (e.g., audiences, contextual data), verification (e.g., fraud, brand safety, ad quality) and measurement (e.g., attention, attribution, audience reach) partners.
  • Build and maintain the internal "LUMAscape", acting as the centralized company resource to manage inbound partner inquiries and selectively pursue outbound partnership opportunities.
  • Evaluate and vet new partnership opportunities that align with company focus areas, building the business case to gain internal buy-in among company leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Legal to manage the contract lifecycle for all new partnerships and renewals.
  • Effectively communicate the TripleLift narrative to decision-makers at prospective partners, including key differentiators in a cluttered ecosystem.
  • Partner with Product and Solutions Engineering to build technical alignment during integration phase, acting as project owner and internal champion to ensure a smooth launch for new partners.
  • Partner cross functionally with Product Management, PMM, Finance and other divisions to design and roll out GTM materials in support of partnerships, facilitate troubleshooting and escalate issues, manage ongoing billing / invoicing for commercial terms, and identify opportunities to expand partnerships in mutually beneficial ways.
  • Implement effective Salesforce tracking with support from Revenue Operations to track, document and communicate progress with key partnership prospects to the leadership team.
  • Expected 20% travel for industry events and meeting with partners.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of programmatic or online advertising experience (experience working with DSPs, SSPs, identity, data, measurement or verification platforms is a big plus).
  • Background in product management, management consulting, or other relevant function that demands strategic thinking and bringing structure to complex problems is a big plus. MBA preferred but not required.
  • Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including key players in identity, data, verification, measurement, and attribution.
  • Extensive experience managing contract negotiations with Legal teams.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to present effectively across multiple levels in an organization with complete composure.
  • Proven track record of identifying and closing market-moving deals and facility with managing complex, long sales cycle deals.
  • Effective time management skills - ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to excellence - working with hustle, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy, and attention to detail.
