The Role

The Director, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role that serves primarily as an estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity's high net worth clients and their advisors as a member of a regionally-aligned Advanced Planning team providing comprehensive financial and estate planning support. Additionally, the Director, Advanced Planning will also be relied on to support the Vice President, Advanced Planning Market Lead to provide advisor training, regional business development and thought leadership. We primarily use video technology to function remotely and meet virtually with clients and advisors across the region. We also collaborate within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve. Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers. This role is remote but does require residing within commutingdistance toan Investor Center or Regional Center in the state of VA, NC, SC or Washington DC.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation
  • 10 -12 years overall work experience with 4 years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90-days of employment
  • Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
  • Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
  • Effective at providing and receiving coaching and mentorship
  • Thrives in a team environment to provide an exceptional client planning experience
  • Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively
  • Proven emotional intelligence to optimally bond with and communicate with clients and their advisors
  • Possesses a solution-oriented, client-first work ethic
  • Works independently, balances competing tasks, and prioritizes work to maintain efficiency
  • Maintains a positive professional attitude, with a thoughtful approach to delivering successful customer outcomes

The Team

We are part of the Advanced Planning Leadership Development team collaborating with Fidelity's advisors and their high net worth clients to provide a comprehensive financial planning experience that is tailored to each client's unique financial goals and family dynamics.

The base salary range for this position is $95,000-186,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
