POSITION SUMMARY

The Picking Supervisor provides supervision and directions forapproximately 15-35non-exempt associates in the Picking Department within the facility. The Picking Supervisor drives the performance of the Picking Department to ensureoptimumlevels of productivity and quality whilemaintaininga safe work environment for all associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Balance workload between pick tickets,pickersand zones
  • Coordinate refills to ensure pick locationsremainadequately stocked to satisfy pick needs
  • Examine work for accuracy, neatness, and timeliness to conform to policies and procedures
  • Evaluate standards,proceduresand processes to improve efficiency of workers
  • Identifyworkloadfor all areas of responsibility and reassign associates based on priorities
  • Provide direction and leadershipin accordance withestablished policies and procedures while focusing efforts to maximize productivity and safety within the pick area
  • Partner with facility management in the daily activities of the distribution center and pick area
  • Analyze and report data relative to the pick area in an effort to constantly improve quality and efficiency.Identifyprocess improvement and make recommendations tomaintaina high levelof customer service
  • Monitory daily, weekly, and monthly production goals to ensure effective staffing andmanpowerutilization
  • Enhance leadership bench strength by developing associates who are in a group leader position
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with all support areas such as Quality Assurance, IT, Human Resources,Transportationand various corporate office support areas
  • Actively promote an environment and culture focused on customer service, safety,diversityand teamwork

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated leadership, problems solving, and interpersonal skills, preferably in a distribution environment
  • Adept in collecting and analyzing data to formulate recommendations for process improvements
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Minimum3+ years in supervisory role
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations to various levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to work varied hours (including weekends or nights, as needed)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
  • Performingadditionalduties as assigned andsupportother departments as needed.
  • Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work an alternate shift for an extendedperiod of timewith limited notice.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, lift and perform manual dexterity.
  • Lift up to 50-pound boxes, remain onfeetforentireshift.
  • Ability to work while being exposed to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer.
