Job description

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Lead to support daily distribution operations in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and can balance accuracy, productivity, and team coordination. The role works closely with supervisors and frontline staff to keep orders moving efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety, inventory control, and operational readiness.


**Position is 2nd shift***

HOURS: 1:30PM-10PM WEEKDAYS


Responsibilities:

• Guide daily warehouse activities to help ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.

• Review order volume throughout the shift and reassign labor as needed to maintain workflow efficiency and meet service goals.

• Coach warehouse team members using quality and productivity data, and provide input to performance discussions and evaluations.

• Support inventory accuracy by overseeing cycle counts, spot checks, and resolution of inventory-related system issues.

• Inspect warehouse equipment regularly, complete required safety checks, and assist with basic upkeep of conveyors, racks, printers, and labeling equipment.

• Help coordinate onboarding and hands-on training for new employees, including operational procedures and workplace safety practices.

• Participate in safety activities and operational meetings focused on staffing, quality, and performance improvement.

• Monitor supply levels, report replenishment needs, and help maintain a clean, organized facility prepared for the next shift.

• Assist with end-of-day operations, including meeting shipping deadlines, securing the building, and stepping in for other leads or supervisors when needed.

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution or warehouse setting.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution, logistics coordination, and inventory control practices.
• Ability to analyze order flow, staffing needs, and productivity data to support efficient operations.
• Experience training employees and providing day-to-day direction in a team-based environment.
• Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to address inventory discrepancies and equipment-related issues.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while handling repetitive tasks under deadlines.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety standards, equipment checks, and general warehouse housekeeping expectations.
• Flexibility to support different functional areas, work second shift, and extend hours when business demands require it.
