IT Systems & Network Administrator Hudson Global Scholars | Columbia, MD Area | Hybrid - 3 days per week work from home and 2 days in the office

About the Role Hudson Global Scholars is looking for a skilled and motivated IT Systems and Network Administrator to join our team. This is a hands-on hybrid role combining infrastructure administration with end user support - ideal for someone who enjoys both technical systems work and helping people solve everyday technology challenges. You will support our global IT infrastructure while providing direct support to staff across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Set up, configure, and reimage laptops and workstations for new and existing employees
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to internal staff and communicate solutions clearly to non-technical users
  • Support Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB database maintenance and monitoring
  • Assist in managing AWS cloud environments across the US and China
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for backups, license management, and archiving
  • Support OpenVPN and pfSense network infrastructure and secure cloud connectivity
  • Assist in administering Unix-based servers across platforms

What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL Server, MariaDB, or similar databases
  • Basic familiarity with AWS cloud services
  • Some PowerShell scripting experience or strong willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including VPN and firewall management
  • Experience setting up and reimaging Windows laptops and workstations
  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience with pfSense, OpenVPN, Unix, or Azure AD is a plus
