Job description

Dog Boarding At The Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC is looking for one assistant general manager to join our 13 person strong team. We are located on 401 Tyner St. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and reliable. This is a very fast paced and physically demanding position.


Our ideal candidate would be an up beat, fast paced independent thinker! This role requires making decisions on a daily basis and navigating the team to excellence and efficiency! This position can be very overwhelming as we remain full nearly year round and our staff training can be very time consuming.

Holidays and weekends are required. Open availability required. Please be able to come to work free of all scents including perfume/cologne and scented lotions. At times this position requires 60 hours with 6 day work weeks and/or work from home.


Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and develop employees and team leaders
  • Delegate tasks to team and provide follow-up
  • Hold team accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed
  • Ensure team provides fast, friendly, and accurate service
  • Staff and schedule appropriately to control labor costs
  • Ensure excellent customer service
  • Ensure appropriate inventory and ordering systems are in place
  • Keeping staff on task
  • Opening/closing facility without supervision
  • Managing basic kennel operations
  • Delegating and laying out staff policies and duties
  • Assisting with basic paperwork
  • Covering shifts as needed
  • Assisting with and creating events and marketing
  • Ensure quality control of canine care and kennel cleaning for all staff
  • Assist in enrichment activities for daycare
  • Oversee and delegate deep cleaning of the facility
  • Complete inspection of the facility as needed
  • Assist with employee reviews
  • Assist with employee reviews
  • Assist with managing budgets


Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Possess a positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused facility
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in the field including some management experience
  • Ability to learn and use our software system
  • Be a team player
  • Self-motivated and able to manage the team without assistance
  • Ability to work independently and use critical thinking skills to organize the team and shift
