Veterinary Externship - Highland Lakes Veterinary Clinic (Marble Falls, TX)
Up to $1,500 Travel/Living Stipend Available

About the Clinic:
Nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Highland Lakes Veterinary Clinic is a busy, community-focused small animal hospital offering personalized, high-quality care to the pets of Marble Falls and the surrounding areas. As part of the NVA network, we provide students with a unique externship experience that blends meaningful clinical exposure with a team-centered, supportive atmosphere.

Externship Highlights:
Students will work closely with our associate veterinarians and gain valuable real-world experience in:

  • Performing physical exams and gathering patient histories

  • Developing diagnostic and treatment plans

  • Assisting with and observing surgical and dental procedures

  • Participating in diagnostics, case discussions, and medical care

  • Practicing client communication and teamwork with support staff

  • Observing the operations and daily flow of a small animal practice

Externs are encouraged to take initiative and become active participants in patient care-not just observers. Our DVMs enjoy teaching and are committed to helping you build both clinical confidence and communication skills.

Program Details:
Location: Marble Falls, TX (in the scenic Highland Lakes area)
Duration: minimum 2 weeks up to 4 weeks (flexible based on student/hospital schedules)
Open to: DVM students
Stipend: Up to $1,500 available for clinical-year students
