Job description

The Marketing & Engagement Manager at Taylor University is responsible for developing and executing engagement and marketing initiatives at the assigned account for AVI Foodsystems. This role focuses on elevating the guest experience through engagement, event, and marketing activities that result in increased customer satisfaction, strengthened client relations and increased revenue growth. The role also ensures company and marketing standards are consistently executed at their assigned account.
As a key member of the AVI marketing team, this position works closely with operations leaders at their assigned account as well as collaborates with their Regional Marketing Manager and Director of Field Marketing to ensure alignment with AVI's corporate standards while tailoring strategies to local customer needs.

Responsibilities:
Marketing Programs & Engagement Execution
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute campus dining engagement events, including development and distribution of a monthly event calendar.
  • Collaborate with chefs, operations managers, and university partners to develop and promote food programs and initiatives.
  • Implement company-wide, regional, and unit-level marketing initiatives and promotional programs.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials across all platforms, including menus, digital signage, physical signage, catering identifiers, and promotional collateral.
  • Coordinate design, development, and timely execution of advertising and POS materials.

Revenue Growth & Meal Plan Strategy
  • Own and drive voluntary meal plan growth initiatives, with full accountability for participation, revenue, and results.
  • Plan, execute, and measure promotions designed to increase engagement and satisfaction as well as sales, customer counts, check averages, and profitability.
  • Measure and report on promotion performance, customer engagement, satisfaction trends, and business impact.
  • Support merchandising strategies that enhance customer experience and drive incremental sales.

Digital, Social & Communication Management
  • Manage and maintain all campus dining social media channels.
  • Ensure campus dining website content is accurate, current, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive campus communication plan, including print and digital across entire campus.
  • Serve as a positive public relations ambassador to the campus community through proactive communication and engagement.

Guest Experience & Brand Standards
  • Cultivate and build relations on campus with various departments as well as with the day to day client(s) to elevate dining communication and collaboration as well as the the AVI brand story on campus.
  • Conduct regular audits of dining locations to ensure marketing, branding, and visual standards are met and continuously improved.
  • Facilitate informal roundtables and table touches to gather real-time customer feedback and maintain a pulse on campus sentiment.
  • Order and manage marketing and merchandising materials to uphold AVI's brand image and operational standards.

Insights, Measurement & Reporting
  • Conduct full customer, campus mapping, and demographic analysis of campus so we fully understand who our customers are so we can better meet their needs.
  • Assist with market research to identify and recommend product, pricing, and marketing enhancements to support an elevated customer experience as well as revenue growth.
  • Share insights and recommendations with account leadership to inform decision-making.

Team Support & Budget Management
  • Oversee and mentor marketing and social media interns, providing guidance, direction, and development.
  • Manage the account-level marketing budget, including promotions, giveaways, and signage.
  • Support additional marketing initiatives as assigned by the Regional Marketing Manager (RMM), Director of Field Marketing or Vice President of Marketing & Strategy.

Client Specific Responsibilities
  • Resident Director and District Manager to include account specific job requirements

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Has a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or graphic arts.
  • 1 to 2 years experience in marketing, communication, advertising, design preferred
  • Understanding and experience with managing social media platforms and content strategy
  • Design skills with the ability to create and edit marketing collateral for events and promotions preferred
  • Creativity to execute and create fun interactive events with college aged students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and manage multiple directions effectively
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to plan and execute all stages of events throughout the academic year
  • Experience coordinating a wide range of events, from pop-ups and themed dinners to large-scale, fully branded campus campaigns
  • Technical proficiency, including managing and troubleshooting digital signage systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software products
