Job Description

This position is responsible for developing human resource technology solutions that fully comply with legal regulations. The incumbent is responsible for development of systems and process solutions which are reliable, accurate, consistent, cost-effective and secure. The client's PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 application is the primary environment, but the work may also include integrating employee information to other systems supporting such areas as learning management, staffing, knowledge-base content, financials, contractor management, performance, talent and company-wide directories.


This person is a member of the Corporate IT team and reports to the PeopleSoft Application Systems Manager.

The right person will at minimum have good experience with ePerformance and TAM/CG on 9.1. 9.2 experience is a plus, as we will likely upgrade in the next 12 months.


Responsibilities and Duties

Provide global support for the PeopleSoft HCM application

Research and develop proposals in new and existing areas of PeopleSoft HCM functionality to meet business needs

Review and approve or push back on proposals for customizing applications. Assess various criteria such as criticality, best practices, experience of other customers, invasiveness and costliness of the proposed enhancement, and impact on other modules. Work with IT developers to determine best all-around solution

Perform more complex tasks related to the following aspects of HRIS/HRIT work (and/or guide more junior business analysts staff in the same):

Developing functional and system configuration requirements for requested enhancements and system changes

Creating test plans and writing/executing scripts related to user-requested system enhancements and projects. Insure coordination with respect to objects cutting across various PeopleSoft modules

Coordinating user acceptance testing, and working directly with end- users to manage tasks associated with testing

Implementing processes around deployment and management of bundles and maintenance packs

Strengthening ad-hoc reporting capability for the HR customer base

Maintaining system configuration table content related to various areas of PeopleSoft functionality.

Determining best approaches for the user community with respect to documentation, 

Conducting business process mapping, fit gap analysis, and functional requirements definition

Actively engaging end-users through all phases of the project life cycle, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely communication and consistent completion of deliverables within critical timelines

Executing project management activities within established standards and methodologies

Conducting business process re-engineering to identify opportunities for improvement, and making appropriate recommendations; ensuring processes and systems are optimally aligned and that they follow industry standards

Working directly with the system vendors to troubleshoot and determine solutions for complex issues

Resolve or facilitate the resolution of reported PeopleSoft incidents 

Strictly enforcing PeopleSoft change management and security administration access control policies end user query tools, and training materials

Qualifications 

7+ years of functional business analyst experience and competence with PeopleSoft HCM software including experience with complex PeopleSoft configurations and queries. Experience supporting PeopleSoft's Talent Management modules (e.g. ePerformance and Talent Acquisition Manager) is a plus

5+ year of technical analyst experience and competence with PeopleSoft technical workbench - PeopleTools (e.g., App Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL, PS/Query). 

Project management skills including consultation, collaboration, project planning, analysis and implementation skills

Experience with version PeopleSoft 9.0 or later. PeopleSoft 9.2 experience is a plus.

Experience with a PeopleSoft implementation and/or upgrade

Experience working with PeopleSoft in a global context - globally. 

Ability to facilitate business and system process improvement discussions across a wide audience

Ability to analyze business processes and system technologies in order to develop, incorporate and enhance the use of PeopleSoft within various HR functional areas.

Ability to develop comprehensive system test plans, training and communications strategies

Ability to multi-task and effectively use resources

Experience working with internal, external and off-shore IT resources with regard to reviewing, prioritizing and executing projects

Education/Training: B.S/B.A. in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent in education and experience

Solid knowledge of and the ability to use a PC and MS Office Suites
