Job description

Who We Are
Leapfrog Brands is the parent company behind some of the fastest-growing lifestyle and drinkware brands in America, including Swig Life. Our vision is simple: bring delight to everyday eating and drinking experiences.
At Swig Life, a woman-founded and operated lifestyle brand, we design premium insulated drinkware and coolers with women in mind. We believe the products people carry every day should be as stylish as they are functional, inspiring designs that help customers express their personal style while making life a little easier.
Delivering on this promise takes extraordinary people. Across Leapfrog and our portfolio of brands, we've built a culture where the best ideas win, innovation is encouraged, and entrepreneurial thinking is celebrated.
We believe great products start with two key ingredients: process and people. Process helps transform ideas into products that are on-brand, on-time, and on-budget. People are the secret sauce, bringing creativity, ingenuity, and problem-solving to every step of the journey.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for smart, innovative, and collaborative individuals who embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and hold themselves to high standards of execution and accountability. Our teams navigate each day with optimism, curiosity, resilience, and a healthy sense of humor, always looking for better ways to serve our customers and delight consumers.
If you're excited about building products people love and making an impact within a growing organization, we'd love to meet you!
About the Role
We're seeking a People Operations Manager who is passionate about recruiting and employee experience and excited by the opportunity to help build a growing People function for our Swig Life brand. As the first dedicated People Operations hire in our Richmond office, you'll serve as the local People Operations lead, owning recruiting efforts while helping to strengthen People processes, programs, and best practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on execution with meaningful influence as we continue to invest in our people and culture.
What You'll Do
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including candidate sourcing, pipeline management, conducting interviews, schedule coordination, and delivery of a positive and efficient candidate experience.
  • Manage and continuously enhance the onboarding experience, including facilitation of new hire orientation, coordination with cross-functional stakeholders, and support of successful team member integration.
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of personnel records, HR systems, and employee documentation, ensuring confidentiality, compliance, and adherence to company policies and recordkeeping standards.
  • Partner with leaders and managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and day-to-day People matters, escalating to the Director of People Operations as needed.
  • Support communication and change management efforts related to People programs, policy updates, and organizational initiatives to ensure alignment and employee understanding.
  • Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives, including recognition programs, feedback efforts, surveys, and action planning to enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Support workplace operations and office management initiatives, proactively identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and foster a positive work environment.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics and trends related to recruiting, retention, engagement, and employee experience to inform recommendations and support business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies while promoting consistency and best practices across People Operations processes.

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources/People Operations experience, including significant ownership of full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition
  • Demonstrated success independently managing people operations processes across multiple functions and levels, with strong knowledge of recruiting best practices and employee experience strategies
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers and leaders to develop hiring strategies, manage talent needs, and drive efficient hiring outcomes
  • Broad HR experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy administration, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Proven ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and execute effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment while collaborating closely with leadership
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
  • Deeply knowledgeable in local and federal HR laws and regulations
  • Ability to embrace transparency and adapt to shifting priorities, while learning from each decision and maintaining focus on progress

Benefits at Leapfrog
  • 15 days Paid Time Off your first year, and an additional day each year thereafter (up to 25 days), as well as company paid sick days, holidays and parental leave options
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as commuter benefits and additional voluntary benefits
  • Annual bonus payouts for all salaried employees, and up to a 5% 401k match with no vesting period
