Job description

Join our Toyota Material Handling Team as a 1st Shift Maintenance Assistant Manager
The Role:
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Shift Maintenance Assistant Manager who brings decisiveness, strong decision-making, and expertise to the table. In this role, you'll leading and developing a team of Maintenance Techs with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. At Toyota Material Handling, we value innovative and creative ideas. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Reporting team activity and progress through visual management (weak point management, pareto charts, other TPS tools, and graphs)
  • Manage general practices for the first, second and third shift Maintenance leaders including shutdown and any projects to improve up time
  • Public speaking to report to the executives for downtime instances and repair progress ( 1 on 1 and in a group setting)
  • Work order completion according to targets
  • Lead salary Group Leaders in their development and goals
  • Review daily, weekly, monthly downtime data to create improvement projects
  • Coordinate daily activities to have parts and necessary supplies
  • Retest all equipment with associate and leadership to verify quality and performance of machine
  • Coordinate the transfer of time sensitive repair and improvement work to and from adjacent shifts to prevent the interruption of production operations
  • Assist in the development of each Associate in behavior and skill set
  • Schedule training according to each year's budget approval
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control, and report the work of a team to achieve improvement goals
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements (safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environment)
  • Promote kaizen activity
  • Create a teamwork atmosphere through excellent communication and respect for people
  • Downtime countermeasure effectiveness, check sheet completion, work orders, and project schedules
  • Create, maintain, and execute procurement commodity strategies for the assigned categories
  • Improve quality and delivery by leading supplier and improvement plans through monitoring performance regularly and leading key initiatives
  • Escalate critical equipment issues or downtime events to ensure adequate resources are assigned
  • Track expenses and oversee budgets
  • Track Hoshin activity and report to executives

What We're Looking For:
  • 2 Year Technical Degree Required
  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 6 Years of Industrial Maintenance Leadership experience
  • Strong technical experience with troubleshooting capabilities
  • Willingness to work hands-on
  • Experience with Predictive Maintenance (infrared, vibration, etc.) is a plus
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power point)

  • This is an in-person role located at our Columbus, Indiana office-ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Salary - $94,000 - $125,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Relocation: This role is eligible for relocation assistance based on current location
