About the Role & Team
 
The Pre-Game & Strategy Trading team is responsible for the commercial performance, strategic direction, and operational excellence of North American sportsbook trading across Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, and MMA. 

The function focuses on: 

  • Pre-game market strategy and pricing 
  • Commercial KPI ownership and performance reporting 
  • Product and offering optimization 
  • Promotional and marquee event planning 
  • Market expansion and automation opportunities 
  • Vendor and tooling optimization 
  • Risk strategy and real-time risk framework collaboration 
  • Cross-functional alignment with Marketing, Product, Risk, Ops, Compliance, and Customer Experience teams 

Core performance indicators include: 

  • Handle 
  • Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) 
  • Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) 
  • Hold % 
  • First Time Bettors (FTBs) 
  • Market mix and engagement 
  • Margin performance 
  • Promotional efficiency 
  • Market uptime and coverage 
  • Pricing competitiveness and market efficiency (Hold Crunch) 

About the Work
  • Assist with pre-game odds compilation and market creation
  • Support the execution and monitoring of core sportsbook offerings and promotional markets 
  • Ensure pricing, data accuracy, and market integrity across assigned sports and leagues
  • Learn foundational trading principles, market behavior, and sportsbook risk concepts
  • Develop familiarity with North American sports calendars, key events, and betting trends
  • Monitor competitor offerings, pricing, and market movement
  • Assist with reporting and basic KPI tracking
  • Support execution of recurring operational responsibilities related to market setup and maintenance
  • Escalate anomalies, pricing issues, or tooling concerns appropriately
  • Contribute positively to team communication and collaboration
