Job description

Job Title: CMM Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator with a strong background in precision measuring instruments and test equipment. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience with specialized training in PC DMIS operating program. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in interpreting prints and specifications, specifically in Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Program and modify existing programs in PC DMIS, and create new programs based on detailed drawings.
  • Utilize a wide range of inspection, measuring, and test equipment to validate products.
  • Perform incoming inspections, first piece layouts, and troubleshoot quality-related issues identified during production.
  • Conduct final product inspections and PPAP Dimensional Inspection Reports and audits.
  • Assist Design Engineering with New Product Introduction during initial phases prior to release.
  • Communicate findings and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality Department to resolve internal and supplier quality issues.
  • Provide training and mentoring to new CMM Operators as required to support daily operations.
  • Complete and maintain detailed inspection files, records, and supporting documentation per ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of three years of experience with PC-DMIS programming.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to document and communicate quality issues clearly.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 standards.
