Foundry Employee Level 1 - Melting
Reports To: Foundry Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Wear all PPE required
  • Follow all GIW Safety guidelines
  • Keeps area neat, clean, and safe
  • Secure and rope off pouring floor prior to pouring
  • Able to work any scheduled hours
  • Able to follow and understand work instructions
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Able to follow and understand SOPs
  • Able to set up and sand in molds
  • Able to bolt up closed molds and understand bolting requirements
  • Able to inspect molds with a borescope camera
  • Able to set and pull mold weights
  • Able to understand and verify riser height
  • Operates overhead crane, skid steer, forklift, and dump trucks
  • Able to understand and document inspection forms for cranes, forklifts, man lifts and scissor lifts
  • Knows how to patch ladles
  • Must understand and perform the process of slagging off ladles during pouring
  • Follow all instructions given by team leads and supervisor

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
