Job description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst for one of our customers located in Sacramento, California. This position is 100% in-office! The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in a large organization handling a high volume of payroll processing, preferably using Workday. The role will be responsible for administering, analysis, auditing and continuous improvement in payroll operations. This position will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and be a part of a large payroll department. Responsibilities:
  • Process and audit a weekly and bi-weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Review payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefit deductions.
  • Analyze payroll discrepancies and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations.
  • Coordinate year-end activities including W-2 processing and payroll tax reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts supporting the close process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be nice to have
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred
  • Proven experience handling a high volume of payroll processing
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, rules, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software preferably Workday
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate to Advanced Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
