Job description

  • In this hands-on role, supervise the payroll team, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls and associated functions to ensure that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
  • Provide timely customer service to our employees located in 5 states - Alaska, Washington, Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming. Research and apply updates to federal, state, and local payroll and tax laws.
  • Ensure all payroll processing including but not limited to, garnishments, government mandated deductions, employee accounts for tool purchases, status changes for new hires, promotions, transfers, raises and terminations transactions are completed timely and on schedule.
  • Identify opportunities to inform and train regional supervisors on common payroll practices and matters as it pertains to employees including Time Management responsibilities and other related duties.
  • Develop and identify effective communication methods for UKG tool utilization.
  • and make corrections as necessary.
  • Payroll wire notifications for Bank funds, Taxes, and 401k funds are complete, accurate and distributed per outlined schedules.
  • Payroll related reports are developed, maintained and properly filed for easy retrieval for audits and other business-related needs.
  • Perform and audit post-payroll tasks for taxable expenses.
  • Develop productive working relationships with key departments: Human Resources, Accounting, Finance and Branch leadership to ensure coordinated, timely and accurate payroll actions.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Supervise team in-office (non-remote) and during work hours from Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm.
  • Proficient with Payroll software. We utilize UKG (Ultimate Software).
  • Demonstrate solid organizational skills, analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Friendly, helpful and patient demeanor who likes to collaborate with other team members.

Education and Experience:
  • 8 years or more experience in payroll processing with a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, and/or possess a Payroll certification.
