Job description

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Fully on-site in Seattle, WA

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 / Per Hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Description:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations.
  • Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Verify employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system.
  • Provide customer service and assist employees with questions or inquiries regarding deductions such as federal and state withholdings, benefit premiums, earnings, and other statements.
  • Validate any updates processed in the payroll system prior to closing of payroll.
  • Assist with setting up new or modified garnishment orders.
  • Respond timely to child support and other agencies with garnishment related questions.
  • Process manual checks such as layoffs, terminations, or payroll related adjustments such as missed hours, retro payments, and bonuses.
  • Assist with training data entry clerks or new team members.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in Payroll
  • Experience with Sage is a plus
