Job description

Role: Technical BA- Payments SME/Domain Expert

Location: Charlotte, NC(3 Days hybrid)

Duration: Contract Opportunity

Exp: 8+ years

Interview: face to face

Job Description: 

  • Strong past experience with Swift, FedWires, ISO20022 messaging & payment processing - SME/ Technical BA.
  • Develop use cases, functional specifications, and user stories for payment system enhancements.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Operations to deliver effective payment solutions.
  • Map legacy payment formats to ISO 20022 message structures for Fedwire Funds Service and international payments.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvements in Wire Payments workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and network standards, including Fedwire guidelines and the FinCEN Travel Rule.
  • Support fraud prevention, risk management, and AML compliance within payment operations.
  • Define and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) for payment system upgrades.
  • Work closely with QA teams to validate payment message formats such as pacs.008, pacs.004, and camt messages.
  • Monitor, track, and resolve defects and issues related to payment processing.
  • Proficient in SWIFT MT and MX message formats.
  • Experience with payment system integrations, APIs, and core banking platforms.
  • Ability/Awareness to use GenAI tools to enhance productivity is expected. (NOT looking for GenAI engr/LLM expertise etc!)
  • Having theoretical blockchain familiarity a huge PLUS.
  • ACH expertise(NACHA rules) and FedNow/RTP payments expertise isn’t necessarily expected as part of current priorities.
