What are accounts payable?

Accounts payable refers to the money a company owes to its suppliers or vendors for goods and services received but not yet paid for. Managing accounts payable involves tracking invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining good vendor relationships. Effective accounts payable practices help maintain a company's creditworthiness and cash flow.
