POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and selling pavement maintenance products and services. This role manages customer accounts throughout the full lifecycle of each project-from initial contact through payment collection-ensuring customer needs are communicated effectively, projects run smoothly, and expectations are met or exceeded.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent's performance objectives as outlined by the employee's immediate supervisor or manager.


  1. Identifies and pursues new business opportunities. This includes generating leads through cold calls, referrals, and trade associations.
  2. Develops and maintains strong, long-term relationships with customers, contractors, and industry partners.
  3. Identifies and recommends appropriate products/services the customer needs. Prepares and delivers accurate quotes, proposals, and product recommendations.
  4. Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts throughout the duration of the relationship. Maintains ongoing open lines of communication with customers.
  5. Communicates customer needs, project details, and timelines clearly to the production and operations teams. This includes assisting with job set up, planning and execution, as well as attending pre-construction meetings with customers and production management.
  6. Monitors project progress to ensure customer expectations are met and any issues are promptly resolved. Conducts post-project follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  7. Approves project invoices promptly and collects receivables, when needed, for completed jobs in accordance with company policies and practices.
  8. Maintains accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, proposals, and project details in CRM systems.
  9. Represents the company at trade shows, industry events, and other networking opportunities.

MARGINAL OR ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or a related field; experience in construction or pavement maintenance industries is a plus.
  • Must possess strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess business acumen, critical thinking, and resiliency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Selfโ€‘motivated, resultsโ€‘oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

TRAVEL

  • Frequent local travel is required to meet with clients and spend most of the time working in the field.

SAFETY

  • This is considered a non-safety-sensitive position but is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OSHA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • This role is expected to comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as the company's safety policies, enforce safe work practices, and proactively identify and remedy worksite hazards.

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.
