JOB SUMMARY:

Patient Access Representative is responsible for the intake and patient registration process. Conducts accurate patient interviews, schedules appointment, enters correct patient demographics, verifies third party payers' information, accurately posts charges when applicable, calculates the amounts due from the patient FPL's at POS, and balances and deposits daily collections. Performing these duties accurately and efficiently is critical to optimizing the hospital revenue.  Performs multi-task clinic duties to ensure efficiency in daily operations. Performs all duties in accordance with all regulatory guidelines and the Grady Health System's vision, mission, philosophy, policies and procedures, while focusing on Excellence Customer Service.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of college preferred
  • One (1) or more years experience customer service experience required
  • Experience in patient access, billing, cash collections, insurance, appointment scheduling, or directly related experience preferred
  • Must be able to accurately types 30 - 35 WPM and possess knowledge of basic computer software, e.g., Word and Excel required
  • CPAR Certification is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Siemens INVISION/OAS Gold system or EPIC system is preferred.
