The Opportunity

As Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, you will lead a comprehensive and highly sophisticated laboratory operation serving Veterans throughout Northeast Ohio.

This position provides a unique blend of:

  • 75% Administrative Leadership
  • 25% Clinical Pathology Practice

You will oversee all aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine operations while serving as a key member of the medical center's executive leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology operations
  • Leadership of Pathologists, Laboratory Managers, Quality Managers, and Section Chiefs
  • Strategic planning and laboratory growth initiatives
  • Regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
  • Quality management and performance improvement programs
  • Laboratory test development and implementation
  • Oversight of reference laboratory services
  • Collaboration with clinicians and healthcare leaders across the organization
  • Education, mentorship, and professional development of laboratory staff

✔ 10+ years of pathology practice experience

✔ 3–10 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience

✔ Experience leading:

  • CAP Accreditation Standards
  • CLIA Regulations
