Job description

Are you an experienced pastry chef who is looking to make some extra money creating fun and new seasonal desserts? Well look no further!
Hufft Marchand Hospitality is looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to consult / work part time and produce some new ice creams flavors and seasonal desserts for our restaurant group. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations.
Job Description:

  • Coming up with and creating new recipes for different dessert items that we may need, including but not limited to cakes, pies, pastries and ice creams.
  • Costing of new recipes
  • Training our kitchen and commisary team on producing the new recipes.
  • Developing and creating seasonal dessert menus and recipes with our Executive Chefs and teams at the stores.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a restaurant with a focus on pastry, with at least 2 years of having managerial responsibilities
  • A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries
  • Prior experience with laminated dough, cakes, ice cream, chocolate, and sugar work
  • Knowledge of how to work with a dough sheeter and depositor is a plus
  • Dependable and hard-working
  • Sociable and friendly
This is an easy going position that will most likely be fluid as we move along. It can start off as simple as creating a new ice cream flavor for our team every month and can grow into handling full desssert menus if you see fit. This can be paid per recipe or could be a monthy salary and we set terms on what we would like to see monthly or quartlery.
Its a great oppurtunity for the right person that has a full time job, loves the pastry / ice cream world and wants to make some extra money on the side during the year. We are a growing company and are always looking to connect with great people.
